Primary 1 Priority and Distance

In Phase 2C of Primary 1 registration, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents living within 1km of a school get priority, followed by those living 1km to 2km away, then everyone else. If a band has more applicants than places, a ballot is held, with Singapore Citizens before Permanent Residents.

From the 2027 registration exercise (children starting Primary 1 in 2028), MOE is raising the places reserved for Phase 2C from 40 to 60 at most schools; schools with fewer than 180 Primary 1 places keep 40. This distance priority stays the same at St Andrew's School (Junior). Only 12 schools move to MOE's new two-track system.
